Juventus have officially moved to secure the long-term future of their bench. As of Thursday, April 9, 2026, Luciano Spalletti and the Bianconeri hierarchy have reached an agreement in principle to extend his contract at the Allianz Stadium for two additional years.

Luciano Spalletti Extends Juventus Stay Until 2028; Strategic Stability Becomes the Priority

The new deal, which is expected to be formally signed and announced within the next 24 hours, will be valid until June 2028.

Reward for Transformation

Spalletti, who arrived in Turin in late October 2025 following the dismissal of Igor Tudor, has successfully steadied a ship that was in total disarray. Despite the recent Champions League exit at the hands of Galatasaray, the Juventus board—led by Damien Comolli and Marco Ottolini—is reportedly “convinced” by the tactical identity and individual player development Spalletti has brought to the squad.

  • The Terms: The extension includes a significant pay rise, with Spalletti set to earn roughly €5–6 million per year (including bonuses), making him one of the highest-paid managers in Serie A.
  • The Project: By locking in the manager before the summer, Juventus aims to provide total “technical stability” as they enter a crucial transfer window.

A Massive Summer Rebuild

With Spalletti’s future confirmed, the club has reportedly greenlit a “six-player reinforcement plan” to bridge the gap to the top of the table.

  • The “Bernardo Dream”: Juventus remains in constant contact with the representatives of Bernardo Silva, hoping to convince the departing Manchester City captain to choose Turin over Barcelona.
  • Midfield Targets: Following the news that Manchester United may sell Manuel Ugarte, Juve has emerged as the frontrunner for the Uruguayan’s signature to bolster Spalletti’s engine room.
  • Darwin Núñez: Reports are intensifying that Juventus will move for Al Hilal striker Darwin Núñez to lead the line next season, especially with Dušan Vlahović currently sidelined with a minor muscle tear.

What’s Next?

The official announcement of the renewal is expected to be made before Juventus faces Atalanta this Saturday evening. For Spalletti, this deal represents the ultimate vote of confidence as he attempts to replicate his Napoli success and return the “Old Lady” to the summit of Italian football.
