Munich, Germany – Bayern Munich has received a massive boost with the return of star left-back Alphonso Davies to the training pitch for the first time since his serious injury in March.

Huge Boost for Bayern as Alphonso Davies Returns to Training Pitch

The Canadian international’s comeback marks a significant milestone in his long recovery.

Davies, who suffered a torn cruciate ligament and cartilage damage while on international duty, has provided a positive update on his progress. “I’m feeling better! There’s still a little bit to go, but for me, it’s soon, considering where I was before,” Davies said.

This optimistic tone is a welcome change after the emotional struggles he’d previously spoken about, describing a “mental breakdown” in the initial days following the injury.

The 24-year-old’s return to light training, which includes running exercises and some drills with the ball, is a crucial step forward.

While he’s not yet ready for competitive action, his progress is ahead of schedule. Initially, a return date was targeted for late November, but with his rehabilitation going better than expected, he could now be back in action as early as late October or early November.

Bayern’s medical staff has made it clear that there will be no rushing his comeback, ensuring he is fully fit before returning to the pitch.

With new manager Vincent Kompany now at the helm and other key players like Hiroki Itō also working on their return, Davies’s comeback is a major piece of good news for the club as they prepare for the new season.

The fans will be thrilled to see their electric left-back back on the grass, and his positive outlook will give the squad a much-needed lift as they aim to compete for top honors.
