AS Monaco have formally announced the immediate departure of 33-year-old French international midfielder Paul Pogba following a mutual decision to terminate his contract, which was originally set to run until June 2027.

Both the club and player concluded that the athletic objectives established when he signed in the summer of 2025 were only “partially achieved,” prompting an amicable end to his time in the Principality ahead of the new season.
Key Details of the Departure
- Limited Playing Time: Persistent physical setbacks—including recurring knee problems and a recent left thigh strain—restricted Pogba to just 6 Ligue 1 appearances (1 start) totaling 115 minutes during the 2025/26 campaign.
- Club’s Appreciation: Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro commended Pogba’s professionalism, leadership, and mentorship to younger players in the dressing room despite the tough on-field injury struggles.
- Pogba’s Message: The 2018 World Cup winner expressed gratitude to Monaco’s leadership, teammates, and fans, describing his time representing the Principality as an “incredible experience”.
- Current Status: Pogba becomes a free agent as he continues his recovery to prepare for his next move.
