Istanbul, Turkey – Fenerbahçe have officially confirmed the acquisition of Colombian striker Jhon Durán on a one-year loan deal from Al Nassr.
While the agreement does not include a buy option, it marks the definitive end of Durán’s brief chapter at the Saudi Pro League club.
Durán, accompanied by his agent Jonathan Herrera and Fenerbahçe director Devin Özek, landed in Istanbul today to finalize the move.
The deal, which has been vigorously pursued by Fenerbahçe’s new manager José Mourinho and director Devin Özek, sees the 21-year-old return to European football.
Under the terms of the loan, Fenerbahçe will cover Durán’s full salary for the duration of his stay, showcasing their significant commitment to securing a player who was a top target for Mourinho.
Despite joining Al Nassr in January from Aston Villa for a substantial fee, Durán’s time in Saudi Arabia was short-lived, with reports indicating a desire for a fresh start.
This transfer, orchestrated by SEG agency with involvement from agent Sofyane Benkheil and the player’s agent Jonathan Herrera, is a major statement of intent from Fenerbahçe as they aim to compete for the Süper Lig title and make a mark in European competitions under their new high-profile coach.
