Dani Olmo has officially ended speculation regarding a potential move away from the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. As of Monday, April 6, 2026, the Spanish international has reportedly rejected a massive proposal from Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah, reiterating that his only focus is succeeding with Barcelona.

Dani Olmo Shuts Down Saudi "Dream Offer"; Midfielder Fully Committed to Barcelona Project

Reports from journalist Alfredo Martínez and other Spanish outlets confirm that while the financial package offered was “staggering,” Olmo’s stance has remained unchanged since he returned to his boyhood club in 2024.

The “Unrejectable” Offer

Al-Qadsiah, currently home to stars like Nacho Fernández and Julián Weigl, were reportedly prepared to break the bank to bring Olmo to the Middle East:

  • Transfer Fee: A formal bid of €60 million was ready for Barcelona.
  • Personal Terms: Olmo was offered a four-year contract with a net annual salary of €9.5 million—a figure that would have made him one of the highest-paid Spanish players in the world.
  • Total Package: The deal was estimated to be worth roughly €40 million in total wages for the player.

“Fulfilling a Dream”

Despite the life-changing money on the table, Olmo’s priority remains strictly sporting. Sources close to the player indicate he views playing for Barça as the “fulfillment of a personal dream” and has no intention of leaving just two years into his six-year contract (which runs until June 2030).

The 27-year-old has become a vital cog in Hansi Flick’s system, especially in his newly adopted “False 9” role. Despite some minor injury setbacks earlier in the season, his recent form has been exceptional:

  • 2025-26 Stats: 8 goals and 7 assists across all competitions.
  • Key Status: Viewed as “untouchable” by sporting director Deco and coach Hansi Flick.

No Exit in Sight

Olmo’s refusal to even entertain the Saudi offer sends a clear message to other interested parties, including Premier League giants like Manchester City, who have long admired the Spaniard as a potential successor to the departing Bernardo Silva.

For now, Olmo remains locked in with Barcelona as they chase the La Liga title and prepare for a massive Champions League quarter-final clash. With a €500 million release clause protecting his contract, any club hoping to pry him away would need more than just a large salary to change his mind.
