Borussia Dortmund have reached a complete agreement with Arsenal to sign 19-year-old England youth international midfielder Ethan Nwaneri on a season-long loan for the 2026/27 campaign.

Deal Structure & Strategic Context
- Financial Package:Dortmund will fully cover Nwaneri’s salary for the duration of the loan, alongside paying an upfront loan fee for a total financial package of around £4.28 million (€5m).
- No Buy Option:It is a straight loan with no option or obligation to buy included.Arsenal maintain full control over the player’s long-term future, with Nwaneri tied to a contract in North London through June 2030.
- Crucial Role at BVB:Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl prioritized Nwaneri on Deadline Day to fill a creative void following a severe ACL injury to new signing Giannis Konstantelias.
- Development Path:After a loan stint at Marseille in early 2026, Mikel Arteta approved this move to guarantee top-flight European playing time that could not be promised in Arsenal’s current setup.
