Istanbul, Turkey – The transfer saga involving Wilfred Ndidi and Besiktas is nearing its conclusion.
Reports from multiple sources confirm that the Nigerian international midfielder and the Turkish giants have almost finalized an agreement on personal terms.
Ndidi, who has been a top target for Besiktas, is reportedly waiting for his club, Leicester City, to clarify the remaining exit details before the deal can be officially announced.
While Ndidi is in the final year of his contract at the King Power Stadium and has no intention of renewing it, the two clubs have been negotiating a transfer fee.
Besiktas’s pursuit of Ndidi intensified after their early exit from the UEFA Europa League, and they have reportedly agreed on a transfer fee of €9.5 million (£8.2m) with Leicester City.
This represents a significant increase from their initial €7 million offer, which was rejected by the English club.
The agreement on personal terms is believed to be a three-year contract with an option for a fourth year.
This offers Ndidi the long-term commitment he was seeking.
The midfielder has reportedly been given permission to travel to Istanbul to complete his medical examinations and finalize the transfer, with the club’s new manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, reportedly pushing hard for the deal.
For Leicester, the sale of Ndidi, who has been with the club for seven years, will provide much-needed funds as they prepare for life in the Championship.
For Besiktas, the acquisition of the experienced defensive midfielder is seen as a key step in strengthening their squad for a domestic title challenge.
All eyes will now be on Leicester City to finalize the last details of the transfer, paving the way for Ndidi’s move to Turkey.
