Istanbul, Turkey – The high-stakes transfer saga of Victor Osimhen to Galatasaray has reignited, with both clubs reportedly back in active talks today, Monday, July 14, to get the deal done.
The key focus of these renewed discussions is the payment terms and bank guarantees for the €75 million transfer.
Galatasaray is pushing for a structure that would see them pay €40 million upfront to Napoli, with the remaining €35 million to be paid in installments.
This revised proposal comes after previous bids, including one for €70 million, were rejected by Napoli, who have consistently insisted on receiving the full €75 million release clause for the Nigerian striker.
Osimhen, who has a contract ready with Galatasaray until June 2028 plus an option for an additional year, has already made his desire to join Galatasaray unequivocally clear to Napoli.
His sensational loan spell last season, where he netted 37 goals in 41 appearances, has made him a top priority for the Turkish champions.
Napoli, under head coach Antonio Conte, is reportedly open to selling Osimhen but remains firm on the financial terms.
The Serie A club is seeking robust bank guarantees to ensure the installment payments are secure.
Galatasaray’s vice-president Abdullah Kavukçu has been instrumental in these negotiations, stating the club’s determination to bring Osimhen back to Istanbul.
This renewed push by Galatasaray comes after the July 15 deadline for Osimhen’s release clause for non-Italian clubs, which has now passed.
Despite this, the €75 million figure remains the absolute minimum price Napoli is willing to accept.
With both clubs actively engaged in direct talks today, all eyes are on whether they can bridge the gap on the payment structure and finalize the move that Victor Osimhen so clearly desires.
