London, UK – Speculation is mounting that Nicolas Jackson could be the next high-profile departure from Chelsea this summer, following Noni Madueke’s recent move to Arsenal.
Reports indicate that the Senegalese striker has “chances to leave” Stamford Bridge as other clubs show keen interest.
AC Milan has reportedly inquired about Jackson’s availability, but Chelsea’s asking price is currently deemed “too high” by the Italian giants.
Sources suggest Chelsea values Jackson at around £50 million (€59 million), a figure Milan might struggle to meet, especially after their recent acquisition of Tammy Abraham from Roma.
Other reports indicate Chelsea may demand “more than £50m” for the player.
In addition to AC Milan, several unnamed Premier League clubs are also keen and have been informed about Jackson’s potential availability.
His profile as a fast, powerful, and relatively young striker who has already adapted to the Premier League could make him an attractive option for numerous sides.
Jackson, 24, signed an eight-year contract extension with Chelsea in September 2023, tying him to the club until 2033.
However, the recent arrivals of attacking reinforcements Liam Delap (£70m) and João Pedro (£60m) have significantly increased competition for places in Enzo Maresca’s frontline.
João Pedro’s impressive debut in the Club World Cup has further solidified his position as a primary attacking option, potentially pushing Jackson down the pecking order.
Despite scoring 13 goals in 36 appearances last season and demonstrating flashes of brilliance, Jackson’s form has been inconsistent at times, and he has also faced disciplinary issues, including a recent red card in the Club World Cup.
While Enzo Maresca has publicly stated he intends to keep Jackson and views him as “important,” the club’s actions in the transfer market suggest they are open to offers for the right price.
