Manchester United are reportedly set to pay Matheus Cunha’s £62.5 million release clause in three separate instalments, according to a report from @MailSport.

Manchester United to Pay Matheus Cunha's £62.5m Release Clause in Three Instalments

This payment structure will see the Red Devils disburse approximately £20.85 million in each installment.

This arrangement comes as Manchester United are closing in on a deal for the Brazilian forward, with personal terms reportedly almost finalized.

While the full £62.5 million value of the release clause will be met, the staggered payment plan offers Manchester United financial flexibility, which is particularly beneficial under the Premier League’s Profit & Sustainability Rules.

The first installment is expected to be paid upon the official activation of the release clause and completion of the signing.

The remaining two payments would then occur at the end of each of the next two seasons, with the full fee to be paid by the end of the 2026/27 campaign.

This favorable payment term, potentially built into Cunha’s release clause, allows United to manage their cash flow and allocate funds for other potential signings this summer.
