Olympique Lyon are reportedly nearing an agreement to sign Brazilian midfielder Danilo from Nottingham Forest, with a formal proposal of €25 million already submitted.
The French club is now awaiting the final green light from Nottingham Forest (NFFC) to complete the transfer.
This move would see Danilo, who joined Forest in January 2023 for approximately €20 million, make a switch to Ligue 1.
While he has shown flashes of brilliance, his time at Forest has been hampered by injuries, limiting his appearances to just 13 matches this past season without scoring.
Despite this, Lyon has identified him as a key target to strengthen their squad.
The relationship between Lyon and Nottingham Forest, both under the ownership of John Textor, is understood to be good, which could facilitate the deal.
Lyon is reportedly planning to pay the €25 million fee in four installments, a structure that could be beneficial for Forest in terms of Financial Fair Play.
For Lyon, securing Danilo would be a significant step in bolstering their midfield as they prepare to compete in the UEFA Europa League next season.
For Nottingham Forest, selling Danilo, whose Transfermarkt value is currently €28 million, would represent a profit, which could be crucial for complying with Premier League and UEFA financial regulations.
The deal is expected to progress rapidly once Forest gives their final approval.
