Sevilla have secured a deal to sign Neal Maupay on loan from Olympique Marseille. After falling out of favor under Roberto De Zerbi and being relegated to training with the reserves, the 29-year-old Frenchman is set for a fresh start in La Liga.
The move marks a significant shift for Maupay, who only joined Marseille permanently from Everton last summer but struggled to make an impact, scoring just once in three appearances this season.

Sevilla’s Search for Firepower
Manager Matias Almeyda has been vocal about needing a combative presence up front to aid Sevilla’s climb up the table.
Maupay’s “pest-like” pressing style is seen as a perfect tactical fit for Almeyda’s high-intensity system. Sevilla successfully beat out competition from Paris FC and Lille, who were both exploring late loan bids.
Maupay’s arrival follows a busy week for Sevilla, who are also managing the recovery of Sofyan Amrabat after his recent surgery.
