Riyadh, Saudi Arabia / London, UK – Chelsea have reportedly agreed a deal worth up to €50 million (£43.7 million) with Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr for Portuguese forward João Félix.
The agreement brings an end to the forward’s short but complex tenure at Stamford Bridge and marks another high-profile acquisition for the Saudi league.
The transfer fee is structured with an initial payment of €30 million (£26.2 million), with an additional €20 million (£17.5 million) in potential add-ons, bringing the total valuation to the €50 million mark that Chelsea had reportedly set.
Adding further confirmation to the imminent transfer, João Félix has already arrived at Al-Nassr’s pre-season camp, which is currently being held in Austria.
Footage of his arrival has circulated, showing the 25-year-old linking up with his new teammates, including compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo.
This move marks a significant turnaround for Chelsea, who had struggled to find a permanent buyer for Félix after his loan spell at AC Milan last season.
Having signed him permanently from Atlético Madrid for around £45 million just last summer, the Blues are now set to recoup a significant portion of that investment, which will reportedly allow them to accelerate their pursuit of other targets, such as RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons.
For Al-Nassr, the acquisition of Félix is another major statement of intent as they aim to dominate the Saudi Pro League and challenge for continental honors.
His arrival adds a creative and clinical edge to their already star-studded attack.
