Barcelona are reportedly in talks with Tim Steidten, the highly-regarded former West Ham United technical director, about adding him to their management team.
This interest from the Catalan giants puts them in contention with several other prominent clubs from Saudi Arabia, Germany, and the UK, all keen on securing Steidten’s services.
Steidten’s reputation as a shrewd operator in the transfer market has grown significantly.
He boasts a strong relationship with Barcelona’s sporting director Deco, a connection that reportedly blossomed during the transfer of Edmond Tapsoba from Vitoria Guimaraes to Bayer Leverkusen, a deal in which Deco was involved as an agent and Steidten was a key figure at Leverkusen.
Known for his strategic vision and a data-driven approach to recruitment, Steidten has a proven track record of identifying and securing top talent.
During his tenure at Bayer Leverkusen, he was jointly responsible for the successful transfers of players who have since become major stars, including Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and others like Mohammed Kudus.
Steidten terminated his contract with West Ham United in January of this year, having spent approximately 18 months as their technical director.
Since his departure from the London club, where he had a turbulent relationship with then-manager David Moyes and later Julen Lopetegui, he has been in discussions with various clubs regarding his next career move.
