LONDON, UK — Arsenal has officially finalized an improved contract for star goalkeeper David Raya, rewarding the Spanish international for his stellar performances since joining the club.
The news, initially reported by BBC Sport’s Sami Mokbel, confirms that a new agreement has been signed, securing a significant salary increase for Raya.
This move is part of the club’s strategy to recognize and remunerate key players according to their impact on the team.
Crucially, while the 30-year-old shot-stopper has secured a bump in pay, the length of his contract remains unchanged, running until 2028.
This structure mirrors the deal recently given to teammate Leandro Trossard, where a pay rise was awarded without an extension in term.
Raya initially joined the Gunners on loan in 2023, before his move was made permanent in the summer of 2024.
Since then, he has firmly established himself as Mikel Arteta’s undisputed number one, winning two consecutive Premier League Golden Glove awards and playing a crucial role in the team’s resolute defensive record.
