Milan, Italy – Serie A President Simonelli has revealed plans, in collaboration with the Premier League, to close the summer transfer window before the start of their respective league seasons.

This initiative aims to bring greater stability and focus to the early stages of the football calendar.
“We want the window to close before the start of the league, same for Premier League,” Simonelli stated.
However, he acknowledged that achieving this goal will require unanimous agreement among Europe’s top leagues, a feat that presents significant challenges.
“But La Liga will NOT close before August 31, it looks like the same also for Bundesliga and Ligue1,” he added, highlighting the differing stances among the major European leagues.
Simonelli emphasized the difficulty in achieving the necessary consensus, saying, “We’d need unanimity to make it happen and so it’s not easy.”
This disparity in preferred closing dates underscores the complexities of coordinating transfer window regulations across different footballing cultures and priorities.
