PARIS, France – Ousmane Dembélé has been crowned the winner of the 2025 Ballon d’Or, a recognition of his incredible season with Paris Saint-Germain and the French national team.

The forward’s stellar performance was central to a historic campaign that saw PSG sweep the domestic treble and finally capture the coveted Champions League title for the first time in the club’s history.
The 28-year-old French international received the prestigious award at a ceremony in Paris, beating out strong contenders including Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and his PSG teammate Vitinha.
Dembélé’s victory makes him the sixth French player to win the award.
Dembélé’s case for the Ballon d’Or was built on a season of both individual brilliance and collective success.
He recorded a career-high 35 goals and 15 assists across all competitions, playing a pivotal role in PSG’s triumphs in Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the UEFA Champions League.
His outstanding performances in the Champions League, where he was named the Player of the Season, were particularly noteworthy, with key goals against Liverpool and Arsenal in the knockout stages.
In addition to his club achievements, Dembélé was a key player in France’s national team, which had a successful season.
His contributions helped secure the UEFA Super Cup and propelled PSG to the final of the FIFA Club World Cup, where they finished as runners-up.
This award marks a remarkable turnaround in Dembélé’s career, which had been plagued by injuries and inconsistency at Barcelona.
Under the guidance of PSG coach Luis Enrique, who also won the Johan Cruyff Trophy for best coach, Dembélé flourished, solidifying his status as a world-class talent and now, a Ballon d’Or winner.
