The highly-rated director has signed with Los Rojiblancos and will begin his new role immediately, injecting vast experience into the club’s sporting hierarchy.

In an official statement released by the club on Tuesday, it was confirmed that Alemany will work closely with Carlos Bucero, Atlético Madrid’s General Director of Football.

Alemany’s duties will focus on all matters concerning the men’s first team and Atlético Madrileño (the reserve side), as well as the professional section of the Academy.

A key figure in Spanish football, Alemany was previously the Director of Professional Football at FC Barcelona from 2021 to 2023, where he was widely credited for his shrewd management of transfers despite the club’s severe financial constraints.

His extensive career also includes prominent roles at Real Mallorca and Valencia CF.

Atlético Madrid views this appointment as a major coup, bringing in a proven operator to strengthen their sporting project. Alemany has already officially assumed his post, visiting the first team at the Majadahonda Sports Centre alongside Carlos Bucero, where they met with head coach Diego Simeone and the squad.
