The transfer for the 17-year-old midfielder was agreed two years ago, and he is now nearing his official arrival in Europe.

Páez recently spent time at Chelsea’s Cobham training facilities last month to familiarize himself with the club’s environment.

He is now gaining further experience in European football by training with Strasbourg, Chelsea’s sister club in France, which is managed by Liam Rosenior.

Reports suggest that this training period with Strasbourg could also be with a view to a potential loan move to the Ligue 1 side for the upcoming season, allowing Páez to further adapt to European football before joining the Chelsea squad.

He was seen participating in a training session alongside Chelsea loanee Andrey Santos, who currently captains Strasbourg.

Páez has already made a significant impact in South American football, earning 17 senior international caps for Ecuador.

His move to Europe is seen as a major step in his development, and his time with Strasbourg will provide him with valuable experience and an understanding of European footballing methods under Rosenior’s guidance.
