Ipswich Town have wasted no time in planning for life after Liam Delap, reportedly offering a loan move to Chelsea’s promising young striker, Marc Guiu.

The Spanish forward is identified as a priority target and a key profile desired by manager Kieran McKenna, aiming to bolster their attacking options.
This pursuit of Guiu is a separate operation from the now-confirmed Liam Delap’s permanent transfer to Chelsea, although the strong relationship between the two clubs is expected to facilitate discussions.
Ipswich are actively pushing for the loan deal for Guiu.
Guiu, 20, joined Chelsea from Barcelona in July 2024 for a reported €6 million and has already made his mark at Stamford Bridge, particularly in the UEFA Conference League where he netted six goals in 14 appearances.
However, he’s had limited Premier League game time and missed much of 2025 with a muscular injury, which may make a loan spell attractive for his development.
While Chelsea are bringing in Delap to strengthen their attack, a loan move for Guiu could offer him consistent first-team football, which he reportedly desires.
This would allow him to gain crucial experience in the Championship under McKenna, a manager known for developing young talent.
The deal is currently underway, and with both clubs seemingly willing to negotiate, a move for Guiu to Portman Road could materialize soon.
