UK – Saturday, April 26, 2025 – Following Ipswich Town’s confirmation of relegation back to the Championship, a £30 million relegation clause in striker Liam Delap’s contract has been activated.

Delap, who made a permanent move to Ipswich last summer, has been a key attacking player for the Tractor Boys. Despite his contributions, the club were unable to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
The activation of this £30 million clause could now open the door for other clubs to make a move for the talented young forward in the upcoming transfer window.
It remains to be seen whether Ipswich will be able to retain his services in the Championship or if Premier League or other top-flight clubs will look to capitalize on the situation and trigger the clause.
Several clubs including Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle have previously been linked with the young striker.
