Chelsea’s Cole Palmer Ruled Out Until International Break to Manage Groin Injury

LONDON, England – Chelsea star Cole Palmer is set for a spell on the sidelines, with manager Enzo Maresca confirming the player will be out for the next 2-3 weeks to fully recover from a persistent groin injury.

Palmer has been managing the issue since the start of the season, a problem that forced him to withdraw from the match against Manchester United last weekend after just 21 minutes.

Maresca provided the update, stating the decision was made to prevent the injury from worsening:

“We decided to protect Cole a little bit, in terms of don’t get worse. We decide to rest him for the next 2-3 weeks until the international break, just to see if with that rest he can recover to 100%.”

The break is a conservative measure to manage the pain and avoid the need for surgery.

This means the 23-year-old will miss crucial upcoming fixtures, including the Premier League clash against Liverpool.

He is now expected to be fully fit and available for selection after the October international break.
