Brentford are reportedly adding Scott Parker to a three-men shortlist of candidates being considered to replace Thomas Frank, who is set to become the new head coach of Tottenham Hotspur.

Parker, who is currently the manager of Burnley, is said to be happy at his current club after guiding them to an immediate return to the Premier League.

However, Brentford are actively exploring the possibility of bringing him to the Gtech Community Stadium.

Frank’s imminent departure to Tottenham, for a fee in the region of £10 million, has left a significant void at Brentford.

The club is now in the process of identifying a successor who can continue the positive trajectory established under Frank, which saw them consolidate their position in the Premier League.

Scott Parker has a proven track record of achieving promotion to the Premier League, having done so with both Fulham and AFC Bournemouth.

His experience in navigating the Championship and then competing in the top flight makes him an attractive candidate for Brentford.

However, his previous stints in the Premier League also saw his teams relegated, which will undoubtedly be a consideration for the Brentford hierarchy.

While Parker is happy at Burnley, the lure of a new challenge at a well-run Premier League club like Brentford could be appealing.

The other two candidates on Brentford’s shortlist have not yet been publicly named, but the club is expected to move swiftly to appoint Frank’s replacement as the summer transfer window progresses.
