Juventus have officially pulled out of direct negotiations to sign 33-year-old Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez after failing to reach a financial compromise with the Premier League club.

Following direct discussions between Juventus executives and Martínez’s representatives, the Bianconeri determined that Aston Villa’s asking price was prohibitive and formally ended their push for the Yashin Trophy winner.
Domino Effect & Goalkeeping Shake-up
- Pivot to Guglielmo Vicario:Juventus wasted no time executing their backup plan, reaching a rapid agreement with Tottenham Hotspur to sign 29-year-old Italian stopper Guglielmo Vicario on an initial loan with an £8.5 million (€10 million) buy option.
- Aston Villa’s New No. 1:Unai Emery’s side have secured their long-term succession plan, hijacking Paris Saint-Germain’s proposal to sign Japan international goalkeeper Zion Suzuki from Parma in a deal worth £29.9 million (€35 million).
- Martínez’s Position:Despite earlier transfer speculation and the arrival of Suzuki, Martínez remains under contract at Villa Park through 2029, though the dynamic creates a high-profile battle for the starting spot under Emery.
