Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted that the club’s medical staff are growing increasingly concerned over Bukayo Saka after the star winger was forced off early in the first half of their 2–2 UEFA Champions League draw against Bayern Munich.

The 25-year-old pulled up abruptly and clutched his left thigh just 10 minutes into the match at the Allianz Arena after attempting a pass.He was immediately replaced by Eberechi Eze, who went on to open the scoring for the Gunners.
Arteta’s Post-Match Assessment
- The Medical Verdict: Speaking after the game, Arteta did not hide his concern over the nature of the setback: “They [the medical team] are a bit concerned. A player who has to come off with a really sharp pain is never good news, but we have to wait and see.”
- Severity:When pressed further on whether the injury appeared serious, the Arsenal boss conceded: “It doesn’t look good at all, but we’ll have to wait and see.”
- Fixture Congestion:Arteta also pointed to the relentless demands of the modern calendar, noting the extreme physical and mental intensity required at the highest level of European competition.
Saka will undergo further scans upon the squad’s return to north London to determine the exact extent of the damage and a potential recovery timeline.
