Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has voiced concerns about the excessive workload placed on footballers, particularly young players.
Pérez highlighted the case of Real Madrid’s teenage sensation, Jude Bellingham, who, at just 21 years old, has already amassed 251 career appearances.

In contrast, David Beckham, at the same age, had only played 54 matches.

The Real Madrid chief believes that the relentless schedule of matches, particularly in recent years, is taking a toll on players’ physical and mental health.
The lack of adequate rest and recovery time increases the risk of injuries and burnout.
Pérez’s comments underscore the need for a more balanced football calendar. While the demand for top-level football is high, player welfare should remain a priority.
