Ahmed Musa, the former Super Eagles captain, made a sensational return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with a brace for Kano Pillars.
The 31-year-old forward helped his side secure a 2-0 victory over Sunshine Stars at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday.
Musa, who rejoined Kano Pillars in October after a brief spell at Sivasspor, wasted no time making an impact on his debut.
Just four minutes into the match, he capitalized on a loose ball inside the box to fire home a powerful shot and give Kano Pillars an early lead.
The former CSKA Moscow star continued to dominate the game, and in the second half, he sealed the victory with another impressive goal.
Musa placed a precise finish past Sunshine Stars goalkeeper Emmanuel Ofori to extend Kano Pillars’ advantage.

Although Musa had the chance to complete a hat-trick in the 70th minute, his penalty struck the woodwork.
However, his two goals were enough to secure the win for Kano Pillars, who finished the match 2-0.
Musa’s return to the NPFL is a significant boost for the league, and his performance against Sunshine Stars has sent a message to the rest of the teams.
The former Super Eagles captain’s presence will undoubtedly attract more attention to the NPFL and help to raise its profile both domestically and internationally.
