The most significant setback involves star striker Karim Benzema, who is ruled out for a minimum of 10 to 15 days.

Medical examinations on Thursday confirmed that the 38-year-old Frenchman suffered an adductor muscle injury. Benzema, who recently made a high-profile switch from Al-Ittihad, has been in sensational form, netting three goals in his first three games for the “Blue Wave.”

His absence comes at a critical juncture as the team prepares for the AFC Champions League Round of 16 and a high-stakes clash against Al-Shabab.

Adding to coach Simone Inzaghi’s woes, captain Salem Al-Dawsari is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The Saudi icon is facing 3 to 4 weeks out after sustaining a hamstring injury. Al-Dawsari remains the creative heartbeat of the squad, and his extended absence leaves a significant void in the attacking third.

The defensive unit hasn’t been spared either. Center-back Hassan Al-Tambakti suffered a hamstring strain during the second half of the midweek fixture and has been ruled out for the next game.

With Nasser Al-Dawsari also undergoing treatment for a toe injury, Al-Hilal’s depth will be tested to the limit as they chase league leaders Al-Nassr.
