Nottingham Forest have reached a full agreement to sign Italian international striker Lorenzo Lucca on loan from Napoli.
The 6ft 7in forward is set to travel to England today to undergo his medical and finalize the move to the City Ground.
Sean Dyche has long prioritized a physical presence up front following the injury to Chris Wood, and Lucca—who thrives in a direct, physical system—is seen as the perfect profile.
The Deal Structure
- The Loan Fee: Forest will pay an initial €1 million to Napoli.
- The Buy Option: The agreement includes a non-mandatory buy option clause worth up to €40 million (inclusive of add-ons) for the summer.
- The Salary: Nottingham Forest will cover the player’s full wages until June.
Why Now?
Lucca, who only joined Napoli from Udinese last summer, has struggled for consistent starts under Antonio Conte due to the scintillating form of Rasmus Højlund.
With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, Lucca pushed for the move to ensure regular playing time and cement his place in Luciano Spalletti’s Italy squad.
Forest reportedly beat out competition from Pisa and Benfica to secure the striker, thanks to a decisive personal pitch from Dyche regarding a “leading role” in their Premier League survival fight.
