The England international has put pen to paper on a five-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until June 2031. He is expected to earn a lucrative wage of approximately £200,000-a-week.

Solving the Defensive Crisis

Pep Guardiola moved swiftly in the January window to secure Guéhi following a string of high-profile injuries to his backline:

  • Josko Gvardiol: Ruled out for the remainder of the season.
  • Ruben Dias & John Stones: Both currently sidelined with long-term issues.

End of an Era at Palace

Guéhi leaves Selhurst Park as a club legend, having captained the Eagles to their historic FA Cup triumph in 2025. His departure, combined with manager Oliver Glasner’s upcoming exit, marks a significant shift for the South London club.

“I am really happy and incredibly proud to be a Manchester City player,” Guéhi said. “I want to grow as a player and a person, and I know at this club that’s going to happen.”

Guéhi is the second major signing for City this window, following the £62.5 million arrival of Antoine Semenyo.
