PARIS — Paris Saint-Germain have officially signaled their intent to extend the contract of their star forward Ousmane Dembélé, with initial contact between the club and the player’s representatives now underway.

While Dembélé’s current deal runs until June 2028, PSG are moving early to reward the 28-year-old following a historic 12 months. Since January 1st, Dembélé has been celebrated as the reigning Ballon d’Or and FIFA The Best winner, having spearheaded PSG to their first-ever UEFA Champions League title last season.
The Current Status
According to club sources, the process is in its “infancy.” PSG have formally notified Dembélé’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, of their desire to discuss a new multi-year extension, but no formal proposal or specific financial figures have been exchanged as of this morning.
- PSG’s Stance: The club views Dembélé as the cornerstone of Luis Enrique’s project. With other key players like Bradley Barcola also in renewal talks, the hierarchy wants to solidify the core of the squad before the summer window.
- The Player’s Stance: Dembélé is reportedly “very happy” in Paris and has a strong relationship with Luis Enrique. However, his camp is aware of his skyrocketing market value following his clean sweep of individual awards in 2025.
Luis Enrique’s Response
Luis Enrique’s Response
Addressing the rumors during a press conference ahead of next week’s Champions League clash with Newcastle, Luis Enrique remained characteristically tight-lipped:
“Negotiations are a private matter between the player and Luis Campos. We know Ousmane’s importance to this team—he is the best player in the world right now. We are calm, he is calm, and we will see what happens in the coming months.”
