ISTANBUL, TURKEY – Fenerbahçe has reached a total agreement to sign Dutch international Joey Veerman from PSV Eindhoven, signaling a massive intent for the second half of the Süper Lig season.
The deal, confirmed with the “here we go” from Fabrizio Romano, sees the Turkish giants successfully trigger a release clause in the player’s contract that becomes active in the January window.
Fenerbahçe will pay a fee of €23 million to activate the clause, a significant investment that PSV had previously resisted during the summer. Despite late interest from Premier League side Brentford, Veerman has prioritized the move to Istanbul, drawn by the ambitious project led by new manager Domenico Tedesco, who recently replaced José Mourinho.
Contract Details and Terms
The 27-year-old playmaker has reportedly agreed to a four-and-a-half-year contract (until June 2030) with a substantial salary increase compared to his current deal in Eindhoven.
- The Vision: Tedesco views Veerman as the “missing piece” to provide creative link-up play between the defense and attack, filling the void left by recent departures.
