JEDDAH, SAUDI ARABIA – Al Ahli has officially announced that Senegal international goalkeeper Édouard Mendy has signed a new contract extension, keeping him at the club until June 2028.
The deal, which was finalized today, solidifies the future of the former Chelsea shot-stopper as a cornerstone of the club’s ambitious project.
The agreement was formalised alongside Sporting Director Rui Pedro Braz, who has been instrumental in securing the long-term futures of Al Ahli’s core talent this week, following the recent extension of Merih Demiral.
Mendy’s original contract was set to expire in 2026, but his consistent performances and leadership—culminating in the club’s 2025 Asian Champions League triumph—prompted the club to move early with a two-year extension.
