PORTUGAL – FC Porto has firmly rejected the possibility of a January transfer for young Turkish international forward Deniz Gül, despite sustained and growing interest from several clubs in the Turkish Süper Lig.

The Portuguese giants view the 21-year-old as an essential part of their squad and have no intention of sanctioning his departure.

The decision is rooted in the strong belief that manager Francesco Farioli has in the player. Farioli recently praised Gül, calling him “a player with incredible skills; physically strong, very fast, a good finisher, generous off the ball and intelligent.”

Despite facing strong competition in the forward line, Gül has featured regularly across the Primeira Liga and the Europa League this season, demonstrating Farioli’s high valuation of the striker.

His involvement in recent Europa League matches and his goal contribution in the Taça de Portugal confirm his established position within the first-team setup.

Crucially, the feeling is mutual. The player himself is reportedly happy at Porto and focused on continuing his development under Farioli, particularly as he settles into the national team after switching allegiance from Sweden to Turkey.

Given his significant role and contract running until June 2029, FC Porto considers the transfer speculation closed, assuring that there is “no chance” for a January exit, regardless of the offers tabled by interested Turkish clubs.
