The advanced talks point to a significant commitment from City, with reports suggesting the new deal will run until June 2031, adding two years to his current contract which was set to expire in 2029.

This decision comes directly after Manchester City firmly rejected two substantial bids from Tottenham Hotspur during the recent transfer window.

Spurs were prepared to pay a fee reportedly in excess of €70 million, but the City Football Group (CFG) leadership, including CEO Ferran Soriano, insisted the 21-year-old was not for sale.

The club views Savinho as a key part of their project, with manager Pep Guardiola also reportedly keen to keep the talented attacker at the Etihad.

City is eager to avoid a repeat of the scenario seen with Cole Palmer, whose departure they later regretted, and are moving to secure Savinho’s future as he develops into a top-class player.

The formal announcement of the contract extension is expected soon, locking down one of the most exciting young talents in their squad.
