London, UK – In a development that could see another Chelsea youngster head to the Bundesliga, RB Leipzig have reportedly inquired about winger Tyrique George during recent club-to-club talks for Xavi Simons.

While the two transfers are not part of the same deal, the inquiry highlights Leipzig’s strong interest in the English talent.
Sources close to the negotiations reveal that George has attracted significant interest from the Bundesliga, with Leipzig particularly keen on the 19-year-old.
George has reportedly made it known that he is prepared to leave Chelsea due to limited opportunities in the first-team squad, which has become even more crowded with the club’s aggressive transfer activity this summer.
George had a breakthrough season last year, making 26 appearances across all competitions, but Chelsea’s numerous attacking acquisitions, including the likes of João Pedro, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and Liam Delap, along with the potential arrivals of Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho, have pushed him down the pecking order.
While Chelsea’s preference is reportedly for a loan move to a top European club to ensure George gets regular game time, a permanent transfer has not been ruled out.
Leipzig and other Bundesliga clubs, such as Borussia Mönchengladbach, are said to be exploring all options.
The situation mirrors the recent move of Marc Guiu, who was loaned to Sunderland as part of Chelsea’s strategy to provide their young players with valuable senior experience.
The potential move of Tyrique George to Leipzig would further solidify the German league’s reputation as a prime destination for developing young English talent.
