Marseille, France – Olympique Marseille have officially announced the return of Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the club.

The 36-year-old, who spent a highly successful season at the Stade Vélodrome in 2023-24, has re-joined the club just one year after his departure.
Aubameyang returns to Marseille on a free transfer after mutually terminating his contract with Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah.
He has signed a two-year contract with an option for a third, a clear indication of the club’s faith in his continued goal-scoring ability.
During his previous spell at Marseille, Aubameyang was a revelation, scoring 30 goals and providing 11 assists in 51 games across all competitions.
His impressive form made him the Europa League’s top scorer that season, a performance that convinced Marseille’s management and fans to bring him back.
A photo shared online shows Aubameyang alongside Marseille President Pablo Longoria, sporting director Mehdi Benatia, and his agents from Premier Sports Talent, all smiles as the deal was sealed.
His return is a massive boost for Marseille, who are looking to strengthen their attacking options as they prepare for a Champions League campaign after finishing second in Ligue 1 last season.
The signing of Aubameyang also adds a mentor figure to the club’s young attacking core, which now includes the likes of Amine Gouiri and Mason Greenwood.
His experience, leadership, and unwavering professionalism are expected to be invaluable both on and off the pitch.
