Istanbul, Turkey – Besiktas are reportedly in discussions to sign Kyle Walker-Peters, who is now available as a free agent after his contract with Southampton expired.

The Turkish club is confident of finalizing the deal soon, aiming to bolster their squad with the versatile English full-back.
Walker-Peters, 28, left Southampton on July 1, 2025, after five-and-a-half years with the club. He made 202 appearances for the Saints since initially joining on loan from Tottenham in January 2020 before making the move permanent.
Known for his ability to play on both the right and left flanks, his experience in the Premier League and his inclusion in the PFA Championship Team of the Season for 2023-24 (after Southampton’s promotion-winning campaign) make him an attractive prospect for many clubs.
Besiktas, under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, have been active in the transfer market this summer, having already secured deals for players like Tammy Abraham, João Mário, and Felix Uduokhai.
The potential addition of Walker-Peters on a free transfer would represent smart business, adding depth and quality to their defensive line as they prepare for the Süper Lig season and potentially European competitions.
While other clubs, including Crystal Palace, Leeds United, Lazio, Brighton, and even his former club Tottenham, had been linked with Walker-Peters, Besiktas appear to be pushing hard to secure his signature.
Discussions with the player are ongoing, and the club’s confidence suggests that an agreement could be reached in the very near future.
