Riyadh, Saudi Arabia / Milan, Italy – Al Hilal and AC Milan are planning to complete their agreement for the transfer of highly-rated left-back Theo Hernández this week.

A verbal pact between the clubs has been in place for the past 15 days, and all parties are now ready to move to the formal steps following Al Hilal’s conclusion of their FIFA Club World Cup campaign.
As previously revealed, Theo Hernández himself gave his “yes” to Al Hilal two weeks ago, indicating his clear desire to make the switch to the Saudi Pro League.
Reports suggest that AC Milan will receive a transfer fee in the region of €25m to €30m, potentially with an additional €5m in add-ons.
This move comes as Hernández’s contract with Milan is set to expire in June 2026, and the Rossoneri are looking to avoid losing him on a free transfer next year.
For Hernández, the move to Al Hilal would reportedly see a significant increase in his salary, with some outlets stating he’s set to earn an annual salary of €20 million.
This lucrative offer has been a key factor in his decision to leave European football.
Al Hilal, under their new coach Simone Inzaghi (who took over after Jorge Jesus departed for Real Madrid), are actively strengthening their squad after finishing third in the FIFA Club World Cup.
The signing of a world-class left-back like Hernández is seen as a major statement of intent as they aim to dominate domestically and compete fiercely in the AFC Champions League.
With the FIFA Club World Cup now behind Al Hilal, the path is clear for the final paperwork and official announcements to be made in the coming days.
Theo Hernández is even reportedly not joining Milan’s pre-season training, signaling his impending departure.
