London, UK – Arsenal are set to announce their latest summer signing, Christian Nørgaard, after the Danish midfielder was authorized to undergo a medical, following an agreement reached with Brentford.

This move comes as the Gunners continue to strengthen their squad, with deals for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and midfielder Martin Zubimendi also reportedly finalized.
Reports indicate that Arsenal’s pursuit of Nørgaard has been swift, with a fee in the region of £9.3 million (around €11 million) being agreed upon with Brentford.
Personal terms between Nørgaard and Arsenal are also said to be settled, and the 31-year-old is now cleared for his medical examinations, bringing him closer to a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Nørgaard’s arrival is expected to provide crucial depth and experience in Arsenal’s midfield, particularly with Thomas Partey’s contract talks stalling and his likely departure as a free agent at the end of June.
Mikel Arteta is reportedly a keen admirer of Nørgaard’s leadership, tactical awareness, and physical strength, qualities that have seen him thrive as Brentford’s captain.
He enjoyed a strong 2024/25 season, making 34 Premier League appearances and scoring five goals.
This signing follows Arsenal’s significant moves to bolster other key areas of the squad. Kepa Arrizabalaga is set to join from Chelsea, reportedly after Arsenal triggered a £5 million release clause, providing experienced cover for David Raya in goal.
Meanwhile, Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad is also understood to be a done deal, with a transfer fee reported to be around £55 million (€65 million), paid in installments. Zubimendi is expected to be a key figure in Arsenal’s midfield plans.
With Nørgaard’s medical clearance, Arsenal appears to be accelerating their transfer business, securing key targets early in the summer window to prepare for the upcoming season where they aim to compete on multiple fronts, including the Premier League and Champions League.
