Saudi Pro League champions Al Hilal are reportedly in direct contact with AC Milan as they push to sign French left-back Theo Hernández, identifying him as a priority target for the upcoming summer transfer window.

However, despite the strong interest, no agreement has been reached between the clubs, and critically, Hernández himself has not yet given his green light for the move.

Hernández’s current contract with AC Milan runs until June 2026, and negotiations for a renewal have reportedly hit a snag due to his high wage demands (rumored to be €7-8 million per season, almost double his current €4 million net). Milan are reportedly open to a sale this summer to avoid the risk of losing him for free next year.

His agent recently met with Milan’s new sporting director Igli Tare to discuss his future.

Al Hilal is reportedly offering a staggering €18 million net per season to tempt the 27-year-old to Saudi Arabia. However, reports indicate that Theo Hernández is determined to continue his career in Europe.

While he was previously keen on a return to Real Madrid, they appear to be looking at other targets, and Manchester United have also shown interest.

Al Hilal is actively seeking to make a significant marquee signing this summer, with other top targets including Bruno Fernandes and Victor Osimhen.

They aim to strengthen their squad ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup. The situation with Theo Hernández will be one to watch closely as the summer transfer window progresses, with his preference for remaining in Europe being a major factor.
